Would definitely recommend this item if your concerned about kids putting fireworks through your letterbox for ‘fun’

Very sturdy and easy to install.
I needed this to keep the draughts out, but an ordinary box was no good because the door opens straight against the wall. It turns out this bag is also fireproof. I haven’t tried that out but it does look very sturdy and was no trouble at all to fix. It isn’t the most attractive thing in the world, which is why it has gone down a star. I wish the manufacturers, now they have cracked the functional aspect of this bag, might consider either printing designs on it or having a velcroed-on secondary bag that looks less hi-security and utilitarian.

Ignore packed instructions
Its a simple matter to take apart, one frame tightening screw and two flap control thumb wheels. Gently spread the released frame. The fire proof back can be eased off, just careful over left and right pillars. This leaves a frame. Check where you are fitting and remove the tape covering the adhesive. Fix to the door. Centre mark the four screw holes, and screw down firm. Feed bag back over the frame. Fit the frame. Done. No struggling, perfect neat fit. No holes in bag that would allow oxygen to feed a fire

excellent peace of mind
Quite pricey, but excellent for peace of mind for security and safety of your building, but it is fiddley to fix, trying to screw in tight via the inside of the bag! Instructions clear and simple to do, maybe need extra hands.

Keep the draught out and letters off the floor
Does the trick. Main reason for purchase was for draught exclusion…the heating thermostat is in the hallway which is in proximity to the front door. Though there is a letter box draught excluder it doesn’t stop all the cold air in when the newspaper is left within it allowing significant draught to pass through. This bag is an excellent way to minimize draughts. Easy to install and use.

Excellent internal letter box bag
I bought this to catch our mail so that it did not fall onto the floor and get soaked in urine from our elderly incontinent cat. It fits perfectly onto the double-glazed uPVC door and was easy to fit and is very easy to use.

This is NOT easy to install
I can only review on how easy it is to install, and it was extremely awkward, and I have considerable experience of wood work, metal work, mechanical repairs and DIY. I was not far off from sending it back, but I had already drilled two holes in my door.My only other comment would be use of the word “Fireproof”. Fire-resistant or fire-retardant, fine, but this is not fire proof, and nothing you can reasonably hang off the back oof your front door will be.However, it is better than nothing, and it does have the option to close off the letterbox with a steel plate.
