Exceeded my expectations in every way
I bought these take away on holiday with me. They more than exceeded my expectations. The quality of the product, the sharpness of the video given it is essentially projector is fantastic. Throw in the portability and the price for this model – represents great value and a great buy

Fantastic as a take anywhere monitor, but…
I didn’t get the Beam attachemnt, which has been discontinued in favour of Beam Pro, which is a bit pricey. I bought these glasses just as a monitor, and to see if they were any good. I was expecting to send them back if I was underwhelmed with them.As a replacement monitor on Windows 11 they are very usable and excellent build quality. The image is crystal clear. 3D videos look great. The sound is also very good. Just plug in and they work. (Usb-C PD connector)Where you will see other people having cripes or problems with image quality stems from the fact that you need to pay another Ă‚ÂŁ95 (or ish) for prescription lenses to go into them if you need reading glasses. I use glasses. Without these lenses the image is simply blurry and causes eye strain. I am lucky that I can wear my own glasses and have these Air 2 glasses on (not ideal but perfectly OK) so can get away with not buying the extra prescription lenses to fit into the Air 2. With my own glasses on the image is stunning, very clear, but if you do not position them really well you might miss the top or bottom of the image (just a few pixels) or the left or right areas might become a little out of focus. If I position the glasses really well, the image becomes great.People who do not use glasses should see a crystal clear image, however a lot of people need (or could do with using) glasses but they dont – these people might find the AIR 2 image isnt quite as good as as advertised. Its really important that your eyesight is good, or that you use prescription lenses with Air 2 to get the best out of it.It can do more with the Beam Pro – I haven’t tried.There are apps like Xreal Neubla (and 3rd party ones) which unlock other features instead of using Beam, but these are either flakey, lack features or simply wont work with Windows. Most of them weren’t finished or like Nebula have been abandoned recently. The Android / Mac Apps might be great – no idea – their apps apparently unlock more features.For it to work on a mobile your phone must be able to output the video via its USB port. Most phones can’t do this (Samsung Galaxy S rs ange can)If you have a USB-C DP port on your device (PS5 etc) then these glasses act as a great large view monitor that you can take anywhere. (Acts as a 30″ monitor).I use them to watch 3D video and normal videos – fantastic. I paid Ă‚ÂŁ245 with a voucher – Ă‚ÂŁ289 is too much and they will stop seeling them soon (hence why they stop selling Beam). I think the vouchers are being used to shift old stock. At Ă‚ÂŁ245 what you get is a convenient good quality 120Hz (60/90hz also) monitor and will be great for gamers.I used them for almost 6 hrs straight and only had mild eye strain – these type of things can take some getting used to.Not much funtionality (its a fancy monitor with 3D ability). Can’t be adjusted much apart from sitting on your face adjustments, but they are very light and comfortable. Can use them in daylight (indoors) perfectly well, but better using the black out covers supplied or in a darkened room. For AR glasses they dont seem too big to me. Very very easy to use (just plug them in. To put in 3D mode press a button. Brightness can be adjusted, press buttons). Changing volume is best done on the laptop/phone/PS5 unless you put the glasses button into a different mode and then instead of brightness controls they become volume controls.Image quality is miles better than my Meta Quest 2 headset.Be under no illusion – what you are buying is a monitor for your face – that is it – ignore AR unless you have the right phone or buy Beam Pro. Then you might have to buy prescription lenses (I looked and they were Ă‚ÂŁ95 extra + eye test fees). If you want more functionality (getting into AR) other than a wonderful monitor you’ll be buying a Xreal Beam Pro (Ă‚ÂŁ240 on their website). If you only have HDMI output on your PC you’ll need to buy another attachment (HDMI to USB-C Ă‚ÂŁ35 unless you buy a Beam). Plus HDMI attachments/converters don’t always supply power to the USB-C so make sure you research which one to buy.[Update] I came back to add. Running steam VR with a RTX 3050 Ti based laptop and the HDMI to USB-C PD adapter that was advertised as an AR headset adapter doesn’t appear to work (not yet). Steam VR says that it doesn’t see my headset which is in 3D mode and is working.The glasses used as just a monitor – fantastic. The glasses as a 3D video viewer (fantastic providing the video is in the correct resolution – most aren’t). The glasses for 3D games – troublesome.Also, although the HDMI to USB-C converter works and sees the Air 2 as a sound output the sound doesn’t work with this HDMI comverter so research which one does (I can’t find one that definitely works).It might be that I’ll get Steam VR working (Meta Quest VR headset was also troublesome) with the Air 2 glasses but converting HDMI ports to powered USB-C displays is not easy to pick the right product. 3D is not easy to get working from Windows 11. I’m no mug at this computer stuff and these these are troublesome to make work.I reduced by a star. I wont send these glasses back because I want them as a monitor, they are very good quality, but if you want extra features like virtual workspaces that require an App, or you want 3D games I am sure there are other glasses that are easier to get working. (I note that XReal have also stopped selling the Air 2 Pro glasses. Presumably Beam Pro will soon end). This is an end of life product that will not get bug fixes or features enhanced.

Incredible Display Quality makes up for its Limitations
I have given this 5 Stars despite it being rather limited in usefulness, and that’s because that screen really pops and is the best I have seen even compared to devices 5x the price.I have long been looking for a device I can put on and get the experience of sitting in front of a huge screen when watching movies, I have bought many devices that promise that experience and this comes by far the closes.Let me be clear though, this is neither a VR nor an AR device in my opinion, it’s simply a screen that you wear, which is exactly what I wanted.I started this journey in 2006 with a device that claimed to offer a cinema experience, It was horrific.Then the Oculus Go appeared and together with a cinema app it was very usable despite the screen being a very low contrast and low resolution, but it was comfortable enough and the screen quality was only really noticeable when comparing with real TV or monitor screens.Next came the Oculus Quest which I bought for the same reason, the screen was better but you needed 2 controllers and it was heavy and uncomfortable. Then the Quest 2 was a step backwards for movie watching compared to the Quest.Last year I bought the Quest Pro and I just found it too uncomfortable for a whole movie and also I had to keep moving to to keep the screen in focus. So I had given up almost, and was/am excited about the Apple Vision Pro which is not even available for sale yet.I saw reviews of the Air and the Air2 but they all seemed to be sponsored reviews and nobody seemed to be focused on watching movies, but then was on sale via Amazon FBA which means a seamless and simple returns procedure which even though a never return anything, it does give me confidence to tale a leap of faith, knowing I can return it for a full refund.The first thing I noticed was the absolute amazing quality of the image, forget the specs and the resolution and the other paper specifications and understand that this image quality is staggering, its also crisp and focused for me. I did have to completely remove the nose pieces (3 are provided in different sizes) and use the glasses with no nose piece at all and it’s perfect for me. Just plugging Into my iPad which has USB C port is magical.I have a MacBook and tried the 3 screen option, it’s hopeless for real work and I think it’s just a gimmick, I can’t see anyone using it in preference to the built in Mac screen, but I can see it was potential as a future technology. For me just the Air glasses and my iPad is perfect for watching media of all types.I bought the beam and though its got some cute features I really noticed the degraded picture quality in streaming Amazon Prime or Netflix, so for me it does not add much benefit, but the real story really is how amazing these Nreal glasses are with just a tablet or phone that already supports video & power over USB C.I will keep the beam as it’s compact and is just basically an Android device so the software issues may be overcome with updates..So my overall review is 5 Stars because what these glasses do well is incredible, IF like me you just want to watch media.

This adapter works as expected with the AR glasses I bought from Nreal, essentially all it does is convert type C display port from out of the glasses into whatever HDMI output you need, whether that’s to adapt it into your lightning/display port adapter for your iOS device, or to hook it up to an HDMI cable for your desktop, laptop, or other console. Works good, solid quality so far most impressed.

I have the Nreal Light and Air glasses and have used them with Android and Mac for a while. I decided to get the adapter for HDMI and iOS recently. I am impressed with how well this works. It’s simple: it makes a heads up display for the glasses. No frills or augmented reality. Just a nice big display. And it works.

I like how this helps streaming from my iphone 13 mini and not draining all it’s juice since it has an internal battery. hope will be better in future iterations, but at least 3 hrs is plenty for one session of movies.I also hoep that the new beam solve the 2 big issues on iphone :1. the screen follows you (cannot be stationary)2. teh size of the screen cannot be rearranged.PS. be sure to use and official APPLE adapter for the other end.

Getting this adapter let’s u use the steam deck with the glasses then charge the deck on the dock and use this adapter to the steam dock to keep using the glasses. Also pairs with a hdmi to,lightning apple adapter to hook up to apple devices!

Did not fit official Apple Lightning AV Digital Adapter – so pretty much worthless for an iPhone user!
