Bought for husbands birthday present and he loved it.Looks really nice in the garden.My only concern is it’s quite thin wood so not sure how long it will last and the roof has faded already but easily painted.

Excellent bird nest box

Arrived damaged
Stunning bird nester, purchased for my mum for Christmas. Arrived today damaged annoyingly due to poor packaging in a too small box. Now it’s 5 days before Christmas I’ll have to get something else.

This was purchased as a birthday gift for my brother-in-law and he loves it. The product quality is great, the delivery was prompt and it looks great! Hopefully the birds will appreciate it too.

It looks appealing and will look good in your garden, however, the box that was sent to me was not what I expected.One of the wooden tiles had been broken and looked like it was glued and nailed back into place. The metal plating on one side was loose and not compressed to the surface of the wood and the nail holding this down was loose.You’ll have to unscrew the screw first for the back panel to open to reveal inside, where as most other boxes have a convenient release hook for easy access. The hing that opens the panel is not very sturdy and the hinge part is a bit loose.The roof tiles had vertical gaps in between each tile that meets side by side. So on a heavy rainy day, water will leak through those gaps and soak everywhere which will rot the soft wood material and produce mildew and mould from the inside.It looks like a soft wood material used and the entire box has only had a little brush wash with something to treat the wood but areas have been missed with this treatment.So I believe after one winter season, this box would look rotten and decayed. It would not withstand the elements of the seasons we have, as the rain, wind and freezing cold temperatures would decay this box quite easily.I had to seal the gaps everywhere and then use a Cuprinol wood paint sealer to paint on and finish off the box myself. At least now I am feeling more confident that it will withstand the elements and last a lot longer than anticipated.Having done what I’ve had to do, I’d say this box is not worth the price tag that I paid. If I’d have purchased it at a cheaper price, I wouldn’t be saying what I’ve just said in this review. It’s expensive for the poor level of quality and craftsmanship, in which I had to spend time on improve myself.
