    Great!
This is a really great little DAP, not audiophile quality – but not garbage either. UI is easy to use and quick to navigate. Sound quality is pretty good – drives my Beyerdynamic T1’s just fine – can go really loud. Needs some EQ to get to my audio preferences, and the 7 band custom EQ is ok, a little fiddly to dial in the values you want on the touch screen. Built in speaker is great for audiobooks. You can record line-in, and compress to MP3 directly – which is pretty awesome. Recording from either built in mic or line-in (which is shared with the headphone socket) – there’s no level control – but you can switch on AGC for recording. Because it shares line-in with the headphone socket you can’t monitor the levels and there’s no visual level guide (shame) – if they put level control and some visual level – that would make it a usable function rather than “something else” it can do. Worth every penny – it’s super handy and build quality is great.

    Excellent value for money.
This is a really good little Mp3/4 player. I only got it to play music on and it does that really good. The set up was so simple it literally took about 2 minutes. I loaded just over 3000 tracks on it in about 2 hours or so. BT set up is a doddle. I contacted the seller with a question, and they came back with detailed (and easy to follow) instructions, this prompted me to buy from them. I have BT earbuds and the sound is very good. I would certainty recommend this player to anyone wanting a cost effective music player. It does play video, E-books, voice recorder and has a FM radio.

    Good little unit
Great little unit for storage and easy to upload found the screen a little small but you get used to it found that it struggles to connect to all available Bluetooth devices eg connected ok to my Alexa unit but not my carSound and volume good and found battery lasts well . It’s good for the money you pay for it

  4. Amazon Customer

Okay for the money but not the right functionality
The initially looks a nice item – it comes with a charger, transfer cable and case. However, the interface is not very good – the font is terrible very small and hard to read. It looks very old and not as user friendly as other MP3 players. The main reason for the purchase was to create several playlists of songs for an event so it could easily be started and stopped and would play the songs in the list. You cannot add new playlists or rename them – so you only have 3 playlists (adding songs to playlist 1 for example is also very time consuming you would need to go to each song and change it to link it to the play list – with 90 songs that needed to go to playlist 3 I gave up as it would be too time consuming, Instructions are very basic and do not cover any complex functionality. Fairly cheap for the money fine if you want a basic player (sound was good quality) but if you want a nicer interface and extra functionality I would pay a bit more for a larger screen and better interface.

    Better than expected…
I wanted a cheaper MP3 player [yes some of us still use them!] to use at the gym instead of keep taking my ipod. After a bit of searching around I decided on this Mechen player and I’m more than happy with it. Even without using an SD card the 64GB holds more than enough for my needs,Without using the supplied wired earpiece the sound is tinny, but I used bluetooth over ear pieces and that makes the sound more than acceptable. Even better with headphones.Once charged the player lasts a long time before the need to re-charge and I find myself using it more often than my ipod! The menu is easy to understand and navigate, and the linking up via bluetooth simple and intuitive. For what it is this is a good buy.

    Dodgy Quality
Product looked good, felt solid and although the screen was a little difficult to work due to it’s size, I managed to get it up and running quite quickly. Windows Media Player recognised it straight away and I easily synched a couple of albums on to the Mechen. Feeling very pleased with myself, I plugged in the headphones to sample the sound quality. Or rather I didn’t. The screen said ‘File Format Not Supported’.Oh dear. Being somewhat computer stupid I had no idea how to re-format the music files; and why would/should I? my old Sony walkman used to synch easily. So, it looked like I was never going to make this thing compatible with Windows (WTF!). After a cup of tea and a custard cream, I sat down again and synched a couple of more albums just to make sure. And, you know what? They played perfectly. Tried a few more….some would play, others wouldn’t. So, nothing to do with a File Format, more to do with a dodgy product. Sent it straight back the next day.

Recebido o produto, a qualidade do produto é boa e a produção é excelente, mas a qualidade do som é média.

It’s pretty amazing what you get for the price.I have a lot of older iPods, classics, touches and shuffles. I love my iPods, but the classics are dated since they have no Bluetooth, and even the touches that have Bluetooth aren’t compatible with my new car stereo. Plus battery life on all of them is dwindling to nothing. So I was looking for something affordable (cheap) that wasn’t a piece of junk. I did a ton of research here, and read all the reviews. For the cost this was the one that seemed to have the best bang for your buck. And I was right, it’s got great usable features and it’s solidly built. Very impressive at this price point. They even throw in a silicone protective case, which I love. It’s small so the case makes it easier to grip and not drop. It has a touch screen, although small but I’d rather have a a small unit then a large screen. It has really good sound quality and 64g of internal storage plus it’s expandable with a SD card. It holds an huge library of music with just the 64g and if you have more you can use the SD card. It also pairs with my new Kenwood car stereo with current Bluetooth compatibility. So ok, right there these features already have the old iPods beat by a long shot. And for the price… if I drop it, lose it, it gets stolen, etc I’m not out a couple hundred bucks. At first I was frustrated it just would not pair with my car stereo. So I got another cheap one here and it had the same issues, and the second one I got was just plastic junk compared to this one! But eventually it paired, and while pairing it, I figured out a way to pair this one. Was really a matter of powering this unit and my car stereo on and off until it was recognized. Ya it was hard at first and probably more user error than anything since this car stereo is brand new to me, but once it found it, it’s locked in. I can power off the player and turn my truck off and when I turn it back on they pair automatically without having to do anything in a matter of seconds!I’m totally impressed with this.So much that right after I’m done writing this, I’m buying another one.Oh, and I contacted customer service for a few tips and they are excellent in response time and helpfulness.

Gostei de tudo: leve, confortável, fácil de manuseio. Em resumo: INCRÍVEL

Performs its job as a portable music player admirably. I don’t even miss my ipod with this player. Good construction quality. Not too light. Not too heavy. The user interface looks a little out of date, and hence the four stars instead of five, but I already knew that before I purchased it. The song title text is a little small but navigation has still been manageable and trouble-free nonetheless. I sometimes have a little trouble connecting in my car using a cable where the cable is connected but the player is not recognized by the car stereo system. However, I’m starting to think that might have been user error rather than an issue with the player. The last time I had that issue shutting the player off and then on fixed it immediately. Once Mechen updates the user interface this will be a five star player for me.Update November 11th, 2025. It was great while it lasted but today I had it playing in my car and I went over a minor pot hole and two seconds later that was it. It stopped working and I can’t get it to turn on again. I thought maybe it had just run out of charge but it hasn’t turned on even after being plugged in for what should be enough time to charge. It took me weeks to load all my songs on this and it’s all gone. It didn’t even last two full months. I can’t believe it.Update November 12th 2025: I have to do yet another update as the player has seemed to have recovered from not being able to turn on for 24 hours. I just tried the power button again and this time the Mechen logo popped up in response. The battery indicator showed the player was low on charge so I immediately plugged it in and now it’s charging. I can’t explain why it wouldn’t turn on for a day. Maybe it was just sick of me and needed a break. I can understand that. I am updating my review back to four stars from three. Hopefully, this will be my final update.
