I truly hope I only ever take this kit camping and hunting but should I need a decent array of tools in a survival situation â even for a day or two â I’ll be beyond grateful to have this kit in my pack. These tools appear and feel pretty solidly built, enough to get a fire going, dig a hallow for sheltered sleep and manage some unexpected needs in an emergency situation. There are a lot of tools in this tiny footprint. The only thing you’ll need to add to this kit is a battery for the flashlight.I like the weight. In addition to being well made, there’s a little weight to these tools which I find less fatiguing for repetitive motion work.I think everyone who commutes in snow country should be required to have such a kit in their vehicle. This would be a most welcome gift for the avid outdoors person. It would give parents a little reassurance to know that their new drivers in the family has some emergency gear onboard. And it’d be a really good idea to outfit independent elderly folks, too.I’d stow this on a boat, too. Notorious for limited space this kit would be extremely handy for exploring new shores and islands. Plus it’d increase the chances of using that harpoon!I enlarged, printed, and laminated the graphic from this listing with the yellow âAdjust Tools According To Usage Scenariosâ to add to the kit. If my glasses are broken this print might be helpful, can deal with wet conditions and would be especially useful for others using the kit without introduction.

â Why Trust This Review:I was on the hunt for a compact, lightweight camping tool kit and thought this one would be a good fit. Hereâs my experience after checking it out.âï¸ Quick Summary:This camping shovel kit is designed for versatility, packing multiple functions into a single tool set thatâs ideal for outdoor trips. Itâs made from carbon steel and comes in a compact, organized case. Although the plastic case is on the lightweight side, it effectively holds all components and latches securely. The kit includes useful accessories like a hatchet, knife, harpoon, icebreaker, flashlight, whistle, lighter, and compass, making it a practical choice for camping and survival needs.ð Design and Build:⢠Carbon Steel Shovel Head: The shovel flips open smoothly, locking in place with a screw mechanism for stability.⢠Modular Handles: Each handle screws in, allowing for easy customization of length based on your needs.⢠Accessories: The added tools like the sharp hatchet and sturdy harpoon are thoughtfully included for various outdoor scenarios.⢠Aluminum Hollow Handles: These handles feel robust and look high quality, adding durability without extra weight.ð§ Practical Use:⢠Versatile Functionality: The adjustability of the shovel blade and handle extensions gives me confidence in using it across different tasks and settings.⢠Secure, Though Lightweight Case: The plastic case does a decent job holding the tools, but the foam padding thatâs supposed to keep everything secure came loose. I found that opening the case upright prevents the tools from slipping out until I can fix the foam padding.⢠Compact Design: The compact, folding design means I can fit it easily in my camping gear without taking up too much space.âï¸ Advantages:⢠Easy Assembly: Switching between tools or extending the handle is simple, making it easy to adapt to different needs quickly.⢠Multiple Accessories: The inclusion of survival essentials in one kit is very convenient.⢠Solid Build Quality: The tools and handles feel durable, with a solid heft that gives me confidence in their durability.â ï¸ Considerations:⢠Loose Foam Padding: The foam inside the case doesnât stay attached, causing tools to fall out unless the case is opened carefully. I plan to secure it with hot glue to keep everything in place.⢠Thin Shovel Cover: The provided cover for the shovel blade is very thin, so I may look for a replacement for better protection.ð In Conclusion:For anyone looking to add a multi-functional tool to their camping gear, this shovel kit delivers on utility and portability. Despite the minor issues with the case and padding, the toolset itself feels strong and dependable. Itâs compact, well-designed, and ideal for various outdoor uses.â FAQs:⢠Is the case sturdy? The case is lightweight plastic, so itâs functional but could be improved with better padding.⢠Can the handle length be adjusted? Yes, the handles can be easily extended or shortened to fit your needs.⢠Is this kit easy to assemble? Assembly is straightforward, with each piece screwing in securely.âð¼ Final Thoughts:This tool set has a lot going for it with versatile tools and a solid build. While the case could use a few upgrades, the set itself is well-made and efficient for anyone looking to streamline their outdoor essentials. This review was written by U N O V I S I O N, where we focus on providing honest and detailed reviews to help consumers make informed decisions. This folding shovel multitool gear kit from Cocuki is a decent entry level survival tool that can be kept in a vehicle in case of emergencies, or for use camping. It has many features that can be useful in a survival setting. The shovel is solidly constructed of thick gauge carbon steel. It appears to be robust, and I don’t foresee the possibility of bending or breaking it. The handle segments are thick aluminum, with o-rings that seal out the elements. There are several accessories included with the kit that can be implemented in various scenarios, including an axe head, a harpoon and a fixed blade, all of which seem to be of good quality. There is good weight to the shovel and axe head.I have a few issues with the kit as follows: 1) The handle segments are quite short, so when they are all connected it feels like it lacks strength. I would be wary of using the shovel in this configuration. 2) While the saw is a nice addition, and is quite sharp, it is situated on the edge of the shovel, as such I don’t expect it to hold up for very long when the shovel is used as designed. 3) The case is an afterthought. It is thin plastic, and the latches are flimsy. I would to expect it to stand up to much abuse. Though the case has two foam inserts that have cutouts for each accessory, neither insert is glued/secured to the case so when it is opened one or the other slides out of one half of the case. It is pretty annoying, and something that could have easily been alleviated during assembly. 4) The compass is absolutely useless, it just doesn’t work.Overall, it is a decent kit including seemingly good quality components, I just wish there was a little more attention to detail given the cost. I think for the money there is room for improvement.âï¸âï¸âï¸

This is an amazing set of tools in a small package. It is a bit heavy, so probably not a backpacking tool, but if you are car camping or not going far, this is a wonderful tool. Everything I could have hoped for as a Boy Scout! Except these days I am more into car camping then hiking through bushes.I have tested each tool, except one. I will tell more about that later. All work wonderfully, the handles can be made bigger for a shovel that is easier to use standing, or an axe, Or shorter for a hatchet or spade. The shovel can be tilted different angles and collapsed. The blades on the bladed tools are sharp, and can be sharpened after use when needed. This is now with me for every wilderness adventure where I am not back packing⦠but that may change.I may figure out how to bring it with me then tooâ¦The only problem I had with it is that the fire-starter stick it brittle. It broke before I could use it. I opened the handle ones and looked at it, it was fine. Close the handle no problems⦠But when I tried to use it, the next time I opened the handle, the stick had broken off. Fortunately that was not my only option. I can still use the stick on it’s own, or try gluing it back⦠Even with this small issue, the shovel kit far exceeds my expectations.
