Great Quality Bat House – WorInstallation Takes Effort
I bought the WildYard Bat House as we kept seeing bats flying round the house in the evenings, and overall I’m very satisfied with the purchase. The build quality is top-notch, sturdy wood construction, well-assembled, and clearly built to last. It also has a clean, natural look that fits nicely into the outdoor environment without being an eyesore.The size and internal layout are well thought out, offering two chambers that can support a good number of bats. For the price, I’d say it offers great value, especially compared to other options that feel flimsier or are smaller in size.One thing to note, installation is not as simple as it sounds. While the box itself is well-designed, mounting it at the proper height (recommended 12–20 feet) does require some DIY skill and the right tools. There are no wall plugs or detailed instructions included, so be prepared to plan ahead.All in all, this is a solid, attractive bat house that delivers on quality and design. Just don’t expect a plug-and-play install, you’ll need to put in a bit of work to get it set up right.

Nice box, poor fitting
Nice wooden box but fitting provided is insufficient. Box is completely unstable if ‘hung’ from a wall using the single screw fitting on rear of box (for which a screw is not even provided). Had to drill an additional screw hole further down the box to properly secure the box to the wall.

This is a great bat box. I’ve had it on the side of my house for about 3 years now. It has about 30 bars in it during the summer and they apparently migrate to a warmer climate in late Fall. House is well constructedand has held up well. The temp range / color guide has been spot on for the bats’ optimal comfort. My one recommendation is do not put this on the side of your house. I did and it was a big mistake. I would have thought the inch or so distance of the entrance to the back of the box would have made for a clean drop of bat waste onto the ground but it did not. Instead, it ran down the side of my house, peeling the paint and also caused some rot on the wood behind the bat house. I expected a pile on the ground, which I also got, but not this. It was also on the wall outside my bedroom and I was surprised that I could still hear them sratching around and squeaking when they were in the bat house. I have a log cabin so there were a few bats living in between the bat box and the wall of my house but that was not enough to account for the amount of mess on the wall. Your mileage may vary with different wall type or location on the house but, in my experience, mounting this on a pole out in the yard is going to be the best option.
