Google Unveils Enhanced TV Experience with Gemini AI at CES 2026

Google is revolutionizing the TV-watching experience with its Gemini AI, which was introduced to Google TV devices in November. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026) in Las Vegas, the company showcased a series of new Gemini features that will soon be available on Google TV, enabling users to delve deeper into topics, search and “reimagine” personal photos and videos with AI, and control their TV settings using voice commands.

The new Gemini features will initially be available on select TCL televisions before being rolled out to other Google TV devices in the coming months. This move demonstrates Google’s commitment to enhancing the TV experience and providing users with a more intuitive and interactive way to engage with their devices.

Enhanced Entertainment and Education

Gemini for Google TV allows users to engage in natural language conversations to find something to watch, catch up on their favorite series, or get recommendations. For instance, users can ask Gemini to suggest a show that blends the tastes of two people or help them remember a movie or show they can’t recall the title of, but can describe the plot or name one of the actors.

Gemini can also respond to users’ questions through a visually rich framework that combines text, imagery, video context, and real-time sports updates. Additionally, the TV can be used for educational purposes, providing users with a deep dive into topics they want to learn about, complete with narrated interactive overviews and the ability to ask follow-up questions.

Personalized Experience and Device Control

Gemini also enables users to query their Google Photos library for specific people or moments and apply artistic styles to their photos and videos using AI, turning their memories into cinematic slideshows. Furthermore, users can optimize their TV settings using voice commands, such as adjusting the screen brightness or audio levels, without having to navigate through complicated menus.
