Good quality and versatile camera.
I’ve been looking for a trail cam like this, we have a small campsite that we use for bushcraft type activities and wanted a trail cam to see if any wildlife was visiting while we weren’t around. We previously had a more sophisticated cam than this one but it was 4G only, the 4G reception at our site is terrible and we were barely able to use the old cam.Thankfully this CEYOMUR cam can function without the 4G connection, it has a built in screen that can be used to review images and video footage, it also features manual controls so you don’t even have to use the smartphone app if you don’t want to, operation is generally quite simple and the included manual is pretty good covering most of the basics. This is ideal for us as we don’t really need the 4G connection or any of the smartphone features, all we need is a basic trail cam and this one fits the bill perfectly.Overall performance and picture quality seem good and there are a good range of options available in the menu, I have only performed a quick test at home so far but everything seems to work as expected. One small issue with this cam is the number of batteries this thing takes, 8 x AA batteries seems a little excessive to me and you aren’t supposed to use rechargeable ones in this, so I hope they last a while or it could get quite expensive .I haven’t tested the 4G functionality or the smartphone app because I haven’t needed to use them, which is a plus point in my opinion, you can simply use this cam as a standalone unit with no fuss ,no bother and no other devices needed.Overall this is a decent trail cam for the money ( £49.99 at the time of writing ) that allows you to use it in the way that suits you best – either manually or via the app, it’s simple to operate and the picture quality seems to be pretty good, recommended.

No live view and uses data sim
Nice and quite sharp 2K images and HD videos.Securely in an enclosure, tucked away for your recording.Tried at the back garden and on the fence. Both holder and strap included, giving a strong hold at recording spot. However you do need to use data sim in order to access remotely, for the recording. And strangely, it operates on 8 AA batteries.Good solid and thick outer casing, giving good protecting against rain and Sun glare.Cool little device for round the clock recording with sensitive motion trigger.

Won’t trigger despite saying it’s set up correctly.
I already own a Trail cam by this same CEYOMUR brand that I bought quite recently, and seeing this I thought it would be nice to have another camera in a different part of the garden to catch our nocturnal visitors from angles not covered, but this camera is very different indeed.Firstly, this one needs 8 AA batteries to power it, no option to charge up and no solar charging, and they recommend you don’t use rechargeable batteries, so thatâs a bit annoying. You also have to have a memory card installed, although one is NOT provided and I find this incredibly frustrating. Personally, I feel if you provide a product that HAS to have an additional component in order for it to work, then you should provide that extra item. Instead, I’ve had to take a memory card out of something else to try and get it up and running.Bearing in mind I’ve already set up one of these cameras and have the app already installed on my phone I went through the steps to add this additional device, and itâs there in the app showing as being up and running, however I cannot get it to work.Iâve been through the instruction booklet multiple times now, which is hardly comprehensive, and I’ve been online looking up videos etc, but no matter what I try this camera wonât trigger. Iâve done the trigger test, and it says it works but once put in place it does not trigger no matter what. I put it outside last night and checked today, but nothing has been captured, despite my other camera having multiple videos of the fox that came through the garden last night.I donât know whether this is because I’ve not signed up for the paid for package or not, and maybe this is just user error, but I’ve looked everywhere and I can find nothing to help me work out what is causing the issue.Unfortunately for me, this will be going back in the box and be left unused.
