Great activity tracking and long battery life
The Garmin fenix 7X Pro Solar is a top-end, rugged multisport GPS watch with outstanding battery life, serious outdoor/navigation tools, and deep training and health metrics.Key strengthsBattery and solar: With the Power Sapphire solar lens, it can reach around a month of smartwatch use and very long GPS runtimes if you get a few hours of decent sunlight per day, making it excellent for ultrarunning, multiâday hikes, and expeditions. Solar does not fully âselfâchargeâ the watch but noticeably slows battery drain, especially in bright conditions.Outdoor and GPS performance: Multiâband GPS with SatIQ automatically balances accuracy and power use, giving strong positioning even in canyons, forests, or cities, plus full topo maps, ski maps, and ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer, compass) for navigation.Training and health features: It adds metrics like Hill Score and Endurance Score on top of Garminâs existing Training Readiness, VO2 max, HRV status, and robust sleep tracking, so runners and endurance athletes get very detailed feedback.Rugged hardware and flashlight: The 51 mm case with is built for knocks and 10 ATM water resistance, and the integrated LED flashlight (white and red with strobe/cadence modes) is surprisingly useful for night runs, camping, or emergencies.Tradeâoffs and drawbacksSize and comfort: At 51 mm and around 89 g with strap, it suits larger wrists; on smaller wrists it can feel bulky for allâday wear or sleep tracking.Display and solar expectations: The transflective MIP screen is excellent outdoors but less punchy than AMOLED indoors; solar gains are real but modest if you spend most of your time inside or in a cloudy climate.Complexity: The platform is featureâdense, so there is a learning curve; some users feel many of the advanced metrics go unused if their training is simpler. When it makes senseThe 7X Pro Solar is ideal if you:Do longâduration outdoor activities (ultras, multiâday treks, backpacking) where battery life, maps, and ruggedness matter more than a glossy display.Want an âallâinâoneâ highâend sports and adventure watch with very detailed training load, recovery, and health tracking. It is harder to justify if you mostly do short workouts, want a sleeker or smaller watch, or care most about smartwatch apps and a bright AMOLED screen; in those cases a smaller FÄnix/Epix or a cheaper Garmin model will often be better value.

Great watch at good Black Friday price.
Bought this to replace my Fenix 5s as battery life was degrading. Clearly had lots of experience with the apps and button functions but can see why newcomers might struggle to start with. Have used it for running, walking and Pilates with no recharge needed for a week of use with little actual sunlight. Seems weird to pay more for a smaller size but with thin wrists the larger models look like saucers. Has a multitude of functions that I will never use but so did the old watch. The addition of pulse ox, health checks, training plans etc is interesting and I might get to play around with them at some point when I have downloaded the manual. One point is that it states the watch comes with pre loaded topo worldwide maps. It doesnât and given the map size of 6gbs per region with the watch having 32gbs of storage it couldnât. I downloaded the ones I needed from garmin express after doing the updates.Like the flick watch face light and the flashlight but disappointed the analogue watch face app I had on the old watch is no longer available. So overall a good start and will update as time goes by.

Powerful, reliable, and feature-rich â couldnât be happier
After a lot of research and comparison, I finally went with the Garmin Fenix 7S Pro Solar, and Iâm honestly thrilled with the choice. For the feature set it offers, the price is incredibly fair â in fact, it’s a fantastic value considering the quality and durability. This model is about £200 cheaper than the sapphire glass version, but I bought a tempered glass screen protector on Amazon for only £8, which works perfectly and keeps the screen safe.I have a small wrist, and the watch looks very sleek and balanced â not too big, not too small. I switched to this from the Fitbit Sense 2 and was worried it might feel heavy, but surprisingly, it feels incredibly light and comfortable on the wrist right away â even more comfortable than my Fitbit. The solar charging is a real game-changer â it extends battery life noticeably, especially if you’re outdoors often. GPS accuracy is excellent, as expected from Garmin, and the multi-band GNSS support makes a real difference during hillwalking and hikes.I also appreciate the breadth of training and health metrics â heart rate, pulse ox, VO2 max, HRV, stress tracking â everything is there and works reliably. The new Elevate sensor performs well, even during intense activities. Maps and navigation are top-notch with detailed TOPO maps and great route planning support. The UI is intuitive, performance is snappy, and the touchscreen + button combo is a perfect balance. I also love the customizability â from data fields to widgets and watch faces, you can tailor everything to your needs.A small feature, but the built-in flashlight has turned out to be really handy â I find myself using it often, and itâs surprisingly useful. As a gamer, having the gaming activity profile on the watch is an amazing bonus. It helps me track whether gaming is actually relaxing me or causing more stress. I also use this feature while watching movies, since I watch a lot of films. Itâs not essential, but definitely a very interesting and unique detail for me.In short â if you’re looking for a serious multisport watch that delivers pro-level features without the bulk of the bigger models, this is an outstanding choice. I’m completely happy with it and have zero regrets.

Bellissimo orologio, batteria ottima, GPS accurato, mappe molto dettagliate. Interfaccia delle mappe un poâ datata, sa molto di navigatore di ventâanni fa, ma la navigazione turn by turn è comodissima sia in città che facendo trekking.Se avesse microfono e speaker sarebbe perfetto, per quello câè il Fenix 8

Great watch – good battery. The additional camp light is great. Great visability in the heating sun, without overheating.Abit hard to navigate and install at first. It wasn’t clearcut and had to do a lot of googling.

I’ve been a longtime user of sports watches, but the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar is in a league of its own. Itâs more than just a watch; itâs an indispensable tool that seamlessly blends top-tier performance tracking with rugged, everyday style. For anyone serious about their fitness and outdoor adventures, this is the watch you’ve been waiting for.The solar charging capability is a game-changer. It extends the already incredible battery life, meaning I can go on multi-day hikes or trail runs without a second thought about finding an outlet. The Power Sapphire lens not only makes the display incredibly durable and scratch-resistant but also efficiently harnesses the sunâs energy to keep the watch powered. The feature set is extensive and intuitive. The improved multi-band GPS locks on faster and provides superior accuracy, even in dense forests or urban canyons. I’m especially impressed with the advanced training metrics like Hill Score and Endurance Score, which give me deeper insights into my performance and help me train smarter.Beyond its technical prowess, the build quality is superb. The watch feels solid and premium on the wrist, yet itâs surprisingly comfortable for all-day wear. The combination of a responsive touchscreen and dedicated physical buttons makes it easy to navigate, whether Iâm mid-run or just checking notifications. The built-in LED flashlight is a simple but brilliant addition that has come in handy more times than I can count. This watch is an investment, but for what you get, it’s absolutely worth it. Itâs a robust, reliable, and feature-rich device that delivers on every promise. I highly recommend the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar to anyone who demands the best from their gear.
