    Great paint roller!
Really impressed with this paint roller frame. The bamboo handle feels sturdy and comfortable to hold, even during longer painting sessions. It’s lightweight but durable, and the 9-inch size is perfect for covering walls, ceilings, and even furniture quickly and smoothly.I’ve used it both indoors and outdoors, and it gives a nice, even finish every time. Swapping out rollers is easy, and it holds them securely without wobbling.Whether you’re doing a quick home refresh or tackling a bigger project, this roller frame is a great tool to have on hand. Definitely recommend it for both DIYers and pros!

High performing and built to last
If you’re decorating more than a single wall, especially an entire room or house, the roller set is a worthy investment. Its comfort, quality materials, and thoughtful features (like the extension pole compatibility and washable sleeves) elevate it above standard rollers. The roller spins smoothly, feels sturdy, and the mid-pile polyester sleeves apply paint evenly with no shedding. The sleeves hold a decent amount of paint and clean easily for reuse. If you value durability, control, and a cleaner finish then this is a far better choice. The £18.95 price tag is steep compared to basic rollers but I do think the quality of finish and build and longevity are worth the extra cost. That said, if you’re only doing occasional or small-scale decorating you might find cheaper models adequate. The sleeves aren’t ideal for oil-based paint but perform well with emulsion.I’d rate it 4.5 if I could. With half a star knocked off for the high price.

    Very pleased with the quality
Bamboo has found its way into DIY tools! The handle is on the heavy side, I’d say it’s definitely the heaviest handle I’ve used, which for prolonged use you would feel the difference compared to a light plastic. The build quality is very good though, with the bamboo pieced together from two parts (which hopefully won’t crack over time) and a nice metal collar. The only plastic comes in the form of the edges of the roller and within the sleeves, which are good quality – not the best but certainly not the worst. For a roller which will last longer and avoids the use of plastic then this is your one.

    Comfortable, sturdy, paints well, smooth
I have to paint my walls each summer at my house and parents so the roller does get used regularly. This particular one isn’t like the cheaper versions you get from most stores. It is useful to get something a little more robust and that helps you paint better/smoother. Make a difference to the finish.I have been D.IY painting for a long time so know how to use a roller and can tell if its well made or not. This roller feels well made. I like the handle, its sturdy and comfortable. When you paint all day, having a comfortable roller is good. It paints on well as well, quite smooth with a consistent finish. You get a roller and 2 sleeves for currently £17.99, worth paying the extra for a better finish and easier on the hand. A replacement roller sleeve costs £7.99 from Amazon. You buy quality paint, might as well buy quality tools as well.

    Works really well
This roller set is great. I used it whilst I was decorating my daughters bedroom and it did the job really well. It was easy to attach the rollers and very easy to take them off to clean. The handle is really comfortable to hold for long periods of time too. It held the paint well and applied it evenly, without the pain just being absorbed or any weird marks on the wall. There were a fair few bubbles whilst rolling but I’m not sure if this is partly because of the paint we chose. They popped and we rolled over again which got rid of them well and it has left the walls looks flawless. Great roller.

Good lightweight roller with good coverage sleeves at a reasonable price
So unfortunately there are a tonne of different roller sets that are out there that it’s hard to discern if they are any good or not. This roller set from Hemway is pretty decent. The wooden handle is comfortable when using and provides a nice solid grip with no slippage. You get two sleeves with it and they like the actual roller handle are pretty good quality. The polyester sleeve that comes with it provides really good coverage as it’s a mid pile sleeve and you don’t get those extra bits that you need to worry about at the edge.At this cost and the fact that the handle and frame are pretty lightweight I am happy to fully recommend.

“Hemway” 9″ Paint Roller With 2 Medium Pile Sleeves
This is a decent quality 9″ roller with a bamboo wood handle and 2 medium pile non woven roller sleeves. There is a standard size metal screw fitting in the base of the handle so it can be used with a roller pole and the roller spins freely around the axel. I used to work as a painter and decorator and we used to use the larger 15″ rollers which fix with an adjustable grip each side of the roller, but this would be perfect for home decorating. The polyester non woven sleeves don’t hold quite as much paint as the thick pile woven sleeves we used to use, but they are perfectly suitable for small jobs around the home using emulsion paint. I wouldn’t want to use them for applying oil based paint though, unless you want a “hairy finish”. The sleeves can be removed from the roller cage so they can be washed out and reused although these non woven polyester sleeves don’t last anywhere near as long as the woven ones. Fortunately the standard size roller cage can be used with most replacement sleeves so you won’t need to replace the handle. Seems like reasonable value at £18.95 and the handle and roller cage look like they should last multiple years before they need replacing. Although “Hemway” is not a brand I am familiar with, I have reviewed one of their 3″ nylon paintbrushes before which although perhaps not as good as the industry standard “Purdey” brushes, it measured up pretty well and seemed like pretty good quality with well populated springy bristles. I believe they have a whole range of decorating tools.
