I have Mylar blankets stashed in a lot of my different kits and in all of my cars. There is a wide range of quality when it comes to Mylar blankets and for the price I wasn’t sure what the quality of this sleeping bag was going to be. I was hoping that it was going to be something functional that I could use and I’m pretty impressed. It’s still essentially a Mylar sleeping bag but it is made like the nicer blankets with thicker material. I’ve taken it out of the bag and laid in it. Short of laying on something that would puncture it, I think this will hold up for a couple of nights. The sizing of this is good, it fits an adult male comfortably, and it’s a little loose, so you could even wear some more insulation while you’re inside of this. It packs down surprisingly small. It’s probably about the size of four packaged nice Mylar blankets. Easy and enough to fit in a glove box, a car door, or in almost any kit. This does a really good job of preventing wind and water from getting to your skin. I think that this is much better than blankets for my Get Home Kit and my Bug Out Kit. I’ll be buying another one of these

I keep the Rocalt Emergency Sleeping Bag in the back of my car since I live in the snow belt just south of Buffalo, & it’s become an essential part of my winter emergency kit. It’s designed for one person but it’s roomy enough that my 90 lb dog even wanted to hop in for a test, so there’s definitely space for you & your furry companion in an emergency! The mylar material is extra thick & durable, reflecting heat really well, & it’s completely waterproof, so it keeps you protected from snow, rain, or wind. Despite its generous size, it’s lightweight packs down small enough to store easily in your car. But you’ll have to be patient when folding it back up to put it back in the storage bag. It also has a whistle on the drawstring, which is perfect for signaling for help if you’re ever in a tricky situation. Between the warmth, durability, & safety features, this emergency sleeping bag is a must have for anyone in snowy or cold areas even a big dog can cozy up with you!

This does feel like a thick, heavy duty, quality emergency bivvy. Sticking my arm inside I can feel it start to warm up pretty quickly. (I didn’t completely unravel it for fear of not being able to refold it to fit its bag. Like an old map!) But after having one of the dollar store style emergency blankets and then ACTUALLY NEEDING ONE, and not having it work, I was on the look out for something more durable. This is that! I can literally feel the difference and am much more comfortable knowing I have this around. For backpacking it weighs in at 308g without its bag, and 317g with it.It also has a surprisingly quality whistle on the lanyard. I didn’t have to use much breath to make a very loud piercing whistle, which is exactly what you need when you don’t have enough breath to yell for help.

This is perfect for my go bag, and i have it stored securely ready for use. It comes in a nice carrying bag, and the material seems pretty durable. I think being able to fit two people inside will be a great way to keep warm should the need arise.

Pretty good emergency sleeping bag. The material is definitely thicker than your typical emergency blanket plastic/mylar. Just be careful what you lie it down on top of and what you’re Wear ng/in your pockets climbing in and out of it and it should last you several uses. It’s a bright safety cone metallic orange which will help you get noticed. The bag it comes is also reflective and bright orange. Hang that somewhere visible from land an air. Plus the string on it has a whistle on the end of it that blends right in. Very cool little add ons. Throw a Paracord and some clothes hangers in the bag and you could make a nice little single person tent out of it too. Put the be in every vehicle especially if you’re somewhere it gets to freezing temps or snows.
