Powerful, feels well made, blade change mechanism really good
I bought this to replace my old Parkside ALDI/LIDL unit, whose power switch had failed, and which used an allen key to fit/remove blades. The flip-lever quick blade change mechanism on this unit is SO much more convenient – fitting and changing blades/attachments takes seconds, and it feels like it holds it really securely. It will take both the style of blades with a gap at the back of the tool end, as supplied with the unit, as well as the ones with a complete circle as were used with my old unit – which is nice, as I had a variety of blades I’d bought for the old unit which I wanted to be able to still use.This unit is more powerful than my last, feels well balanced and good quality, and has powered through the few jobs I’ve used it for so far with ease. The screw in handle (angle-grinder style) is a nice addition for extra control in some cases, but I’ve not really needed it much yet.I also much prefer the quite decent fabric toolbag it’s supplied in to the blow-moulded plastic case my old one was in, as it was always tricky to get the cable to stay in the right place to close the case without trapping it – no problems here (and if the unit does eventually fail, the bag will still be useful for other tools).One feature this doesn’t have which my old ALDI/LIDL Parkside unit had was dust extraction – but truth be told the dust extraction fitting on the old unit was so unwieldy and awkward that I very rarely used it anyway, oscillating multitools don’t exactly blow dust everywhere so it’s not too hard to clean up afterwards!

A++ so far
At 500W this multi tool is, on the face of it, at least twice as powerful as other offerings in the price range. When a manufacturer makes wattage claims they are on pretty safe grounds as the majority of consumers will not be able to verify the claim. But this tool does deliver very close to that power and it is very noticeable in use. I can’t comment on the arc claim of 5 degrees.The tool is very solid, heavy die cast where it matters and feels well balanced. The lead is noticeably more flexible that many other PVC mains leads, making storage easier when packing away in the well made case which comes with it. The case is impressive, like a Gladstone bag, but like many users I will be putting it aside in favour of a hard case with room for accessories to be randomly scattered around the bottom, affording me the opportunity to scrabble around with a stick looking for the blade I need.It cuts accurately – vertical blade movement is minimal. It is relatively quiet, although they are all a bit annoying to the ears. The blade lock works well and stiff enough to inspire confidence without being difficult to operate.If you are comparing this to a battery version, just remeber you will spend far more time changing and charging batteries than you would running a lightweight extension lead and plugging it in.A++ recommendation. Only just bought it so can’t comment on durability; if it falls to bits in a week, you’ll hear about it here…

Value for money but blades break easily
Had been looking for a multitool for ages willing to pay a lot more than this one but couldn’t make up mind.For 46 was worth a gamble and need to cut a tap from a kitchen sink.Did the job well going through copper and steel taking 10 minutes but blade was broken at the end.Used again to cut rear of wooden kitchen units, different blade broke after a minute.Third time used can seen blade starting to break.So not impressed if a blade breaks every time you use it.Don’t know if I’ve been unlucky but hoping this will be compatible with other makes and allow more substantial blades to be sourced if this continues.Despite this for the money can’t complain and completed a job I couldn’t have done without a multitool. I’m sure for less arduous jobs and sanding etc will be fine.Putting the blades on and off can be awkward but have to pull lever fully forward to engage.Not the lightest multi tool, not an issue for myself.Decent bag and assortment of fittings.If I was using a multi tool daily I’d probably go for something with more substantial blades but for the odd use I’m hoping will be fine.

Excellent tool for the money.
I bought this to complete a small roofing job. I didn’t want to spend a lot, so bought this on the strength of other reviews.I was very careful with the plastic blade removal locking mechanism as I had read other reviewers saying that it had snapped. Forewarned is forearmed and so I was careful to hold the latch close to the tool, rather than use the leverage to open and close. I can see how this will be a weak point, but I think if you’re careful you can avoid this happening.The tool is really good. I used it to cut multiple lengths of awkward wood cuts and cut nail heads flush. The supplied blades are not great quality, but because the tool uses a common blade type, better blades can be purchased. The metal one was blunt after cutting through 8 nails. The wood blade fared better and completed all the wood cuts I needed to do.I’m really pleased with the tool and it’s paid for itself easily with just one job. I’ll buy some better blades at some point.It’s so easy and light to use, and with 6 speeds, it’s very controllable. It’s definitely powerful enough for any home DIY jobs.Even if it be breaks on my next job, I won’t be upset, although I can’t see any reason why it will as it seems pretty well put together.Very happy with this purchase.
