Very good
This hoist is very good for the price, strong and easy to use. I knew it was heavy, obvious but when it arrived in its small box with yellow sticker declaring HEAVY, I didn’t quite expect I’d struggle to pick it up! (I’m short with no muscles!)I don’t have a garage and wasn’t really in need of a hoist as such but a friend of mine does and I often use his space for art projects. So I gave this to him to try and I have used it myself to lift some heavy pieces of wood for an art piece. This is what he said ‘the chain action is smooth and not a problem, I had a cheaper chain hoist that often would get stuck or come off the wheel but this just does the job without complaint. Good instructions, well made, strong and well balanced. Good value for money’.The listing does say only to use this hoist as recommended which didn’t cover making a wooden art piece however, its a hoist that’s made to lift things up to 1 ton – which is does very well. Excellent value for money especially as I’ve noticed the price can fluctuate due to it being on offer now and again.

Super robust chain hoist
This chain hoist is super robust and really solid. When it arrived at my door it was really heavy and I could barely lift it off of the floor. The chain itself is really thick and seems like it’s well made. I decided to hang it up in my garage to give it a try and first tried to lift a big water container which was full of water. I had no problem or struggle using the hoist to lift it up. The chain rubs smoother across the pulley and doesn’t snag or get stuck. It’s really easy to operate and I without the hoist, I wouldn’t have even been able to budge the water container one bit! I can easily say that I trust this hoist with heavier items and even though I haven’t tried anything that’s as heavy as a ton (as that is was it is rated up to), I’m confident that this hoist would be able to put up with that type of weight!Overall, a great, heavyweight and robust hoist with a high quality braking system and really good quality chains. The chains are rust resistant so can be used in wet areas or areas that are prone to getting a bit of moisture. Good value for money.

Levitation for beginners…
This SuperHandy Chain Block Hoist is a really decent quality chain hoist for the money and is heavy and well-made and seems more than fit for purpose. It arrives all coiled up in a smallish heavy box wrapped in oiled paper to avoid corrosion. There’s no assembly needed but you might have to disentangle the chains slightly. All the component parts seem hefty and strong and the gear block itself is reassuringly solid and sturdy feeling. The hooks have safety latches on them to prevent things slipping out again, these aren’t the most elegant looking and don’t fit the curve of the hooks very closely but they should function fine.Obviously you need a very strong and secure beam to hang this from but with that sorted and the chain hoist in place you’re all set and the lift action, when you pull on the loop chain, is ridiculously smooth and easy and your load just levitates off the ground almost effortlessly. Once it’s hanging there you’ll find lots more jobs to do with it, so beware. It seems a great buy, especially if you catch it on a day when Amazon’s price is especially low, but even at full retail it’s solid value.

Excellent build quality
This is a really well made block hoist, all chains are suitably greased before being boxed. My other half is a motorbike mechanic and has an old vw vr6 golf (the money pit, I call it) that has had a few engine changes over the years so this will come in super handy for both of the above. Perfect inexpensive hoist for the garage at home so you can work safely without doing yourself an injury.

A Fantastic Piece of Kit
A fantastic solution for hoisting engines out of vehicles or lifting other heavy items with ease and safety. Using this hoist reminded me of Archimedes, who said, “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” This SuperHandy chain block hoist operates on those same principles: using a cleverly designed system of levers and pulleys, it makes lifting seriously heavy items almost effortless. An excellent piece of kit. It should be common sense but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless – when using the hoist, it has to be hung from an extremely sturdy overhead support. Please don’t try lifting a heavy engine out of a vehicle with the hoist connected to a flimsy overhead beam. That’s a recipe for damage to the engine, the roof, and possibly to yourself too.There’s nothing to criticise about this product. It’s robust, well manufactured, and makes heavy jobs easy – the hallmarks of a good tool. Five stars all the way.

Nice hoist
Very nice well constructed hoist. I have not tested it to full capacity yet.I did however lift up a metal welding table that weighs at least half a ton.The hand chain action is very smooth, and unlike some hoists it actually stays on the wheel when moving at speed.

Very heavy duty!
I have a steel garage and have mounted this just above where I park my car on the metal beams.I mounted it using a large eyelet bolt, bolted through the steel. It is so heavy and sturdy that it took two of us to lift it up and connect it easily, now that it’s up there, it’s going to stay for goodI’ve used it so far to lift an engine from a car and it made short work of it. The engine weighs less than 120kg so I am no where near the SWL of the winch. But it made an otherwise very awkward job, very very easy. The chain is long and easy to operate, even when mounted a few meters up like mine.I think this thing was built to last. It’s very well made, materials seem great and the paint is well applied. High expectations were met with no real complaints.

Well built, chain operation is very smooth, no excess oil as on cheaper makes. On first use it lifted a 700-lb. crate from a truck bed and set it down gently. Appears to be constructed of quality materials. Perfectly happy with this purchase.
