Small compact easily set up and they work. Tested a just over a mile and they worked perfect. Remember these are not like my duty radio having secured network, so transmitting you may well be heard and you also may hear others. I believe there’s about 15 channels, so you should be good for local calls but never transmit secure data. Bought as an emergency back up if the phone system goes down.

They work
Got these as part of my preparation for emergencies. I think these would be perfect if the phone masts lose power. I tested them and they seem okay. My only problem is I live in a city and I get interference from other walkie-talkies in the area used by builders/security guards.
